How to Choose a 500 kg Electric Roll Clamp Stacker

A clear selection guide for the CDD500-R850 and cylindrical roll handling applications.

The right choice starts with the roll, the destination, and the operating route—not only the model name.

Start with these three questions

1

What is the load?

Check the 500 kg rated load against roll weight, diameter, width, and load center.

2

Where must it go?

Confirm whether the listed 2,000 mm lifting height fits the destination and route.

3

Must it rotate?

The manual lists 360° clamp rotation; confirm clearance and required orientation.

The shipment manual identifies the vehicle as a fully electric roll clamp truck with battery drive and battery-electric lifting. Final values should follow the nameplate, contract, technical agreement, and delivery documents for the specific vehicle.

Why roll alignment matters

The clamp should meet the roll near its centerline. The manual prohibits overloading, off-center loading, angled clamping, and clamping loose, irregular, or slippery rolls. Before quotation, prepare the roll outside diameter, width, weight, core information, winding condition, pickup point, and destination.

How the handling cycle works

1Approach the roll on a hard, level floor.
2Align the clamp with the center of the roll.
3Clamp and confirm that the load is secure.
4Lift only after checking the rated range.
5Travel with the roll low and stable.
6Release only after the roll is supported.

What 360° rotation adds

Rotation can help orient a roll toward a rewinding line, inspection station, packaging machine, or storage position. Before rotating, confirm clearance from the floor, truck body, racks, nearby equipment, and people. The load should be raised to an appropriate safe position, and the clamp should remain closed until the roll is stable at its destination.

Site and operator checklist

The manual specifies hard, level ground and adequate lighting. It prohibits flammable, explosive, acidic, alkaline, corrosive, and heavily dusty environments. Only trained and authorized operators should use the truck. Daily checks should cover the clamp, controls, emergency power-off switch, wheels, battery, hydraulic system, and warning functions.

When parked, lower the clamp to the lowest safe position, switch off the key, remove it, and secure the truck as instructed.

What to send for a final review

Send the maximum roll weight, roll diameter, width, core details, lifting height, rotation requirement, route, floor condition, aisle width, doorway clearance, operating frequency, and attachment requirements. If the roll surface is sensitive, include that information for the clamping review.
